Master of Social Work Student – University of DenverAdvanced Standing Intern under Veronica Rivers, LCSW-C
Hi! I’m Lena, a Master of Social Work (MSW) student at the University of Denver under the clinical supervision of Veronica Rivers, LCSW-C.
I bring over a decade of social work experience across diverse settings—including outpatient clinics, schools, acute inpatient care, residential treatment, and remote services. My background includes extensive case management, intake and assessment, discharge planning, behavioral interventions, and care advocacy for individuals and families across the lifespan.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) from Saint Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 2014. I’ve pursued specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, with a strong interest in the intersection of mental health and substance use. I’m passionate about continuing to grow my skills in individual, couples, and family therapy, with a lifelong commitment to being culturally responsive, relevant, and inclusive in my practice.
Outside of the therapy space, I’m a proud military spouse and mom to three amazing kids. I recharge through podcasts, audiobooks, hiking, paddleboarding, lifting, yoga, swimming—basically, anything active and outdoorsy (and yes, I’m even learning to love running). I’m excited to learn with and from you, and I look forward to walking alongside you on your path to healing.
