Veronica Rivers, LCSW-C
I’m Veronica Rivers (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care that addressed the unique needs of each client. With years of experience in the mental health field, my approach is rooted in understanding the profound impact trauma has on an individual’s emotional and psychological well-being. I believe healing is a journey that involves not only addressing symptoms but also uncovering and working through the underlying causes of distress.
I utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques to help clients develop coping strategies, foster resilience, and regain a sense of control over their lives. In addition to these traditional therapeutic methods, I integrate a holistic perspective, recognizing that mental health is deeply connected to physical, spiritual, and social well-being.
I utilize a range of complementary approaches like art therapy, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness-based practices, allowing clients to explore and heal from their experiences in a holistic manner. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can express themselves freely, work through their trauma, and embark on a path toward wholeness and self-discovery. I am passionate about empowering individuals to connect with their inner strength and achieve lasting, transformative change.
I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life and across all age groups, but I have a particular passion for supporting teenagers and seniors. For teens, I help navigate the challenges of adolescence, including identity formation, peer relationships, and the pressures of modern life. With seniors, I offer support through life transitions, grief, and the search for meaning in later years. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that meets the unique developmental needs of these populations, fostering growth, connection, and a renewed sense of purpose.
I currently accept BCBS, CareFirst, Optum, VA, Tricare, Aetna, Medicaid, and Self-pay.
