Larren Burgess, LCSW-C

I am a compassionate and understanding Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to walking alongside clients on their healing journeys. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Salisbury University in 2019 and my master’s degree in social work in 2021.
I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma, supporting them with day-to-day functioning, crisis management, and long-term healing. My areas of focus include Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and PTSD. My background includes counseling youth in a juvenile detention center, supporting adults transitioning back into society after incarceration, and working extensively with low-income families while addressing challenges related to housing and homelessness.
I utilize a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques. I work collaboratively with each client to determine which approach best fits their needs, always at their pace.
I consciencely work alongside my clients and take the time needed to see what approach will best fit their needs.
My goal is to create an environment where clients feel understood and are in a place where they choose to heal and address concerns on a regular basis. It is my hope that I can be a lantern in a client’s life so they begin to see and realize a healthy version of themselves they wholeheartedly accept or can begin to accept.
I currently accept BCBS, CareFirst, Aetna and Cigna. Immediate openings with evening appointments available.
