Ciara Hoover, LCPC
I’m Ciara Hoover, (she/her) LCPC, I graduated with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University in 2022, and am committed to advocating for my clients in their mental health journey. My journey in psychology is fueled by a desire to serve a wide range of clients — from the innocence of childhood through the complex stages of adolescence and adulthood. Early in my career, I realized the profound impact of working with children affected by trauma, an experience that has significantly influenced my approach to therapy. By integrating cognitive-behavioral techniques with the uplifting principles of positive psychology, my goal is to nurture resilience, growth, and happiness in those I work with.
Specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, my practice is rooted in the belief that recovery must address both the mind and body, leading to a compassionate, evidence-based path to healing. I fervently support the Health at Every Size (HAES) model, which emphasizes size inclusivity, health enhancement, and life-enhancing movement, steering the focus away from weight and towards overall well-being. This approach creates a safe, empathetic space for my clients, encouraging genuine progress and recovery.
Additionally, I’ve expanded my therapeutic toolkit by training in Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy at the Wellness Institute, offering a wider range of healing modalities to my clients. I’m devoted to providing personalized, compassionate care that recognizes the individuality of each client’s journey.
I am currently welcoming new clients and can accept insurance from BCBS, Care First, United Health Care, Optum, VA, Cigna, Medicaid, and Aetna, along with self-pay options.
